Construction Bootcamp

The CAGC Construction Bootcamp (CBC) is a free 8 – 10 week program providing training and mentorship for individuals seeking a well-paying and rewarding career in construction. The program prepares students to transition into immediate job placement, higher level skilled trades programs, apprenticeships, internships, and degree programs while learning industry essentials*. The CBC was developed for minorities, women, veterans, disabled, justice-involved and disadvantaged youth but is available for anyone. Skills taught include: hands on training with tools and equipment, NCCER Credential, OSHA 10 Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, soft skills training and more. All participants are eligible for a $750 cash benefit.

*Each Community College offers a unique set of skills.

By the numbers: Since beginning, over 235 students have enrolled in bootcamp programs across the state.

Success Story: One student tried to find a job in the construction industry before the program. Although he had the desire, he found he did not have enough experience and was turned away.  He learned about the program and reached back out to a local company and CAGC member. They allowed him to job shadow/work one day a week while in the program.  He did so well, they offered him a full-time role at the end of the bootcamp. He is now thriving in his new role and is beyond thankful for the construction bootcamp opportunity.

Success Story: “Going through the CAGC Business Academy has been amazing! I’ve met so many new people in the minority business community and have worked with a few of them since our cohort. Because of this class, my business reaches a broader audience and has more visibility. We have also gained more knowledge and internal support from an operating standpoint because of the topic discussions in class. The program was well thought out with the business owner in my mind.” Melody Compton, Construction Business Academy Graduate, Purified Pros
