CAGC Members who are small highway construction contractors are invited to take part in the N.C. Department of Transportation’s 2023 Technical Training Series, a pilot program that will offer various courses to small highway construction contractors interested in working on NCDOT projects. Each course will cover NCDOT specifications and standards drawing, equipment requirements, bidding and estimating, project management, invoicing and payment, and more. Courses will be held in Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville, and Greenville and will be taught in-person by NCDOT engineers, prime contractors and other industry professionals. Each month, the same topic will be taught in each city.
As a part a of each class, NCDOT would like a prime contractor to attend to answer questions the participants may have, offer a prime contractor’s perspective on what they are looking for in a good subcontractor, and how they can be successful. This part of the program will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you are a prime contractor and are interested in participating in that part of the program, please contact Warren Walker at wfwalker@ncdot.gov.
More information on program cost, class size, selection criteria, and more can be found in the program brochure.
