Help Us Improve Work Zone Safety – Share Your Near Misses

Your Insights Drive Action – Help Us Push for Stronger Work Zone Protections

February 3, 2025
The Carolinas AGC Safety Committee has launched a Work Zone Safety Task Force in response to the alarming rise in accidents and fatalities in North and South Carolina work zones. Thanks to our collective efforts, both states now require Online Work Zone Safety Training for new drivers before obtaining their licenses—a big step in the right direction.

But we’re not stopping there.

To further protect our crews and communities, we are pushing for speed safety traffic cameras and additional awareness campaigns in both states. We need your help.

Your firsthand experience is critical in shaping the next phase of this initiative. We are collecting data from Highway and Utility Contractors—and any members working in or around work zones—on near misses and accidents that occur.

Please take a moment to submit this form for any incidents in your work zone. Your input will help us advocate for stronger protections and keep our industry safer.

Submit Your Crash or Near Miss Report

What is a Near Miss?
A near miss is any incident in an active work zone where an unauthorized vehicle enters the area but does not result in an actual accident or injury.

Your support makes a difference. Together, we can create safer work zones for our teams and the traveling public.

Thank you for your time and commitment to safety.
