CE - COVID-19 and Construction Contract Clauses – What you Need to Know
Join us for this Continuing Education (CE) elective training course on Tuesday, September 1st from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
When: Tuesday, September 1, 2020 | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Where: Virtual via ZOOM Meeting
Description: This class, taught by registered architects Jim Rains and Doug Freeman (Bios below), will help you understand the AIA and Consensus Docs key contract clauses you should be aware of as a result of the current pandemic.
In March of this year, the construction industry was completely upended almost overnight in responding to the unprecedented crisis resulting from the COVID 19 Pandemic. This course will review the Governor’s Executive Orders and other laws that were adopted to deal with this disaster at both the state and federal level. Instructors will then delve into construction more specifically as we review the key contract clauses in both the AIA and Consensus Docs contracts for design and construction provisions that you need to know about because of the Pandemic. Instructors will also explore things to consider if you didn’t use an AIA or Consensus Docs contract and the recent limited immunity statutes enacted due to the pandemic. Finally, instructors will discuss things to consider and protocols to take at the job site to respond to the COVID-19 virus from the perspective of the Owner, Contractor, Designer and AHJ.
How to attend: The day before the event you will receive an email link to the Zoom Meeting.
Cost: CAGC Members - $60 | Non Members - $120
