About the Course
Women Who Lead is a highly interactive workshop designed to help women leaders recognize and overcome self-imposed and societal barriers to career advancement. Grounded in the research by Goldsmith and Helgesen, the session provides a roadmap for women to confidently navigate their professional journeys and step into leadership with purpose and power.
Participants will explore the habits that may be holding them back, developing strategies to break free from limiting behaviors, and gain actionable insights to elevate their leadership impact.
Objectives
- Identify and address self-imposed career roadblocks that hinder professional growth
- Recognize key leadership competencies necessary for career advancement
- Develop strategies to overcome unconscious biases and internalize resistance to change
- Understand and mitigate the impact of habits that hold women back
- Build a personal leadership narrative and elevator pitch to enhance visibility and recognition
- Leverage relationships and build networks to create opportunities for growth
- Cultivate resilience, confidence, and executive presence to navigate leadership challenges
How Women Lead Applies in Construction
Women currently represent just 10.8% of the construction workforce, and even fewer in executive roles (NAWIC, 2024). However, research shows that women leaders bring high levels of collaborative intelligence, empathy, risk awareness, and transformational leadership—all essential for today’s complex, safety-conscious, and relationship-driven construction environment.
