As we begin a new year, I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors. I am also blessed to live and work in the Carolinas. The people, companies and communities that we work for and with, in both North Carolina and South Carolina, are the best. There is no comparison!
The success of our association is a credit to CAGC’s leadership and staff, and to our members who dedicate their time and resources. Thank you to the 2025 Board for their leadership and especially to Ty Edmondson for his exceptional leadership of the Board and his past and continued contributions on both the local and national level.
At the heart of the CAGC is the mission to Build Our Members’ Success. By supporting members’ growth and success, we strengthen not only our individual companies, but the construction industry throughout the Carolinas and the US.
CAGC’s five-year strategic plan, covering 2023-2028, provides a roadmap to support our mission. Strategic priorities include advocacy for the construction industry, workforce development and education, growing and nurturing leaders, especially our young and upcoming leaders, and growing membership by delivering exceptional value for all members across North and South Carolina.
The CAGC staff led by Dave Simpson is focused on these strategic objectives and delivering the best for our members. The exceptional work of CAGC staff has put our Association in an excellent position for the future, but Building Our Members’ Success requires active member participation. I encourage you to get involved or if you are involved, get your company more involved. Whether that means enrolling employees in education and safety programs, participating in committees, attending networking events, or supporting workforce development initiatives, your company’s engagement strengthens CAGC, strengthens your company and helps advance the construction industry. With over 100 events planned over the next year throughout the Carolinas, there are countless opportunities for your team to connect, learn, and lead.
As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond, there are so many reasons to be optimistic for our future. I have High High Hopes for another great year!
I invite you to join me as we continue building a strong, safe, and successful construction industry for the Carolinas. If you have any ideas for making the CAGC stronger please contact me, other Board members or CAGC staff. We are here for you and want to hear from you.
