As my term as Chair of the Young Leaders Action Team comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together this past year. It has been an honor to serve alongside such a dedicated and inspiring group of professionals who are committed to building not only projects but also strong relationships and future leaders for our industry.

2025 was another record setting year for the Young Leaders. We reached an exciting milestone — overshooting our membership goal, and growing to over 420 Young Leaders in 2025. This growth is a testament to the impact we have throughout the construction industry and the value this group brings to its members across the Carolinas.

One of the highlights of the year was our Annual Conference in Wilmington, which brought together over 200 Young Leaders from across the Carolinas. This two-day event featured sessions on how to leverage data to optimize performance and allowed participants to engage in an interactive workshop on building resilient teams. The energy, participation, and ideas shared at the conference are proof that our future is in excellent hands.

We also launched our first-ever four-part leadership class series, providing an intentional space for professional growth and personal development. The engagement and feedback from participants show that investing in ourselves will continue to positively shape the next generation of leaders.

Equally important were our connect events and regional luncheon’s, which gave us many opportunities to connect in a more informal setting. These events not only foster camaraderie but also remind us that the strength of our association lies in the relationships we build outside the jobsite and boardroom.

As I pass the torch to the next Chair, I do so with excitement for what’s ahead. The Young Leaders Action Team is stronger than ever, and I have no doubt the group will continue to find creative ways to engage, connect, and lead within the Carolinas AGC community.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve as Chair. I am grateful for the friendships, lessons, and memories from this past year, and I look forward to continuing to support this incredible group as a fellow member.

With gratitude and optimism,
