Construct the Future with Us

At the Carolinas AGC Foundation, we’re building more than careers, we’re building futures. Every gift fuels hands-on training through Construction Bootcamps, scholarships that remove barriers to education, mentorships that guide emerging leaders, and outreach that inspires the next generation to discover their path in construction. Your support today strengthens North and South Carolina’s workforce, empowers students, and ensures that tomorrow’s builders, innovators, and leaders have the tools they need to succeed. As a registered 501(c)(3), your contributions are tax-deductible and directly foster growth, resilience, and opportunity within the industry.

Where Your Gift Goes:
  • Construction Bootcamp: Short-term, hands-on training programs that equip participants with essential skills, certifications, and experience for entry-level construction roles.
  • Construction Business Academy (CBA): Focuses on developing business and leadership skills for small business owners and MWBE firms in construction.
  • Scholarships: Supports students pursuing trades education, allowing them to gain credentials while minimizing debt.
  • Education & Lane the Loader™: Lane the Loader ™ program provides and distributes construction-themed books to young students in libraries, classrooms, and hospitals, sparking early interest in construction careers.

  • Business Work-Based Learning (BWBL) Grant: ARPA-funded Business Work-Based Learning (BWBL) Grant, a targeted investment to strengthen North Carolina’s small and micro commercial construction businesses.

The CAGC High School Chapter is already making an impact!
After our needs were highlighted in the latest CAGC Foundation newsletter, Hodgin Construction generously donated 15 sheets of plywood to support our program. This partnership is a wonderful example of how CAGC connects students and educators with industry support and resources that make hands-on learning possible.
– Ed Newins, Jr., CTE/NCCER Instructor, Southern Guilford High School (CAGC High School Chapter)

Student & Alumni Success Stories:

“I was part of the Construction Bootcamp at Catawba Valley Community College, and I feel the most valuable part of the bootcamp was working on-site with others and learning on the job, especially with a hands-on career. The on-site experience also allowed for connections and communication with others where I'd learn about the industry more than I'd already known.”
Joshua S. Catterton, Bootcamp Graduate

“Receiving a CAGC Foundation scholarship helped me turn my passion for building into a career. Starting out working with my grandfather’s pool construction business and later earning degrees in welding, construction technology, and construction management, I was able to graduate from East Carolina University debt-free. That financial support, combined with hands-on field experience, opened the door to my current role with T.A. Loving Company. To future scholarship recipients, I’d say this: you’ll get out of your career what you put into it. The CAGC Foundation truly helps build futures in construction.”
Ethan Houston, Scholarship Recipient & Assistant Project Manager, T.A. Loving Company

“The Construction Business Academy expanded our vision and productivity. It gave us tools to reach new heights and express our goals with confidence.”
Gerald Carr, Carr Builders & Associates

Construction Bootcamp

The CAGC Construction Bootcamp (CBC) is a free 8 – 10 week program providing training and mentorship for individuals seeking a well-paying and rewarding career in construction. The program prepares students to transition into immediate job placement, higher level skilled trades programs, apprenticeships, internships, and degree programs while learning industry essentials*. The CBC was developed for minorities, women, veterans, disabled, justice-involved and disadvantaged youth but is available for anyone. Skills taught include: hands on training with tools and equipment, NCCER Credential, OSHA 10 Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, soft skills training and more.

By the numbers: Since beginning, over 235 students have enrolled in bootcamp programs across the state.

Success Story: One student tried to find a job in the construction industry before the program. Although he had the desire, he found he did not have enough experience and was turned away.  He learned about the program and reached back out to a local company and CAGC member. They allowed him to job shadow/work one day a week while in the program.  He did so well, they offered him a full-time role at the end of the bootcamp. He is now thriving in his new role and is beyond thankful for the construction bootcamp opportunity.
