About the Course

This course, presented by Windle Terry Bimbo Construction Law and Point Construction Advisory Group, is designed for construction professionals who want to better understand, negotiate, and manage the contract terms that can make or break a project. Through an engaging, practical approach, attendees will learn how to define scope of work, interpret contract document hierarchy, and navigate key provisions related to time, payment, scheduling, risk, change orders, notice requirements, Substantial Completion, Liquidated Damages, and termination rights. The course will also explore the “why” behind common contract terms and conditions, examining how owners, architects, general contractors, and trades can move from risk transfer to shared risk strategies that create fairer, more successful projects. NC-specific legal considerations, including pay-when-paid and no-damages-for-delay provisions, will also be addressed, along with real-world examples of how AI is currently being applied within construction project management and contract administration. By the end of the course, attendees will be better equipped to proactively read contracts, protect their interests, and manage projects more effectively from bid to closeout.
