NCDOT Work Zone Traffic Supervisor Certification

About the Course
This two-day course prepares participants to serve as Work Zone Supervisors, responsible for overseeing the proper implementation of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and ensuring that all employees working within the NCDOT right-of-way are properly trained and certified for their respective roles. The course emphasizes safety, compliance, and leadership in managing complex work zone operations.
Certification Requirements:
- Completion of Flagger and Installer certifications (required for initial certification; not required for renewal).
- A minimum of two years of work zone traffic control experience, including flagging and/or lane closure installation.
Upon successful completion, participants will be certified as NCDOT Work Zone Supervisors for a period of four years, qualified to lead and manage work zone safety and compliance on NCDOT projects.
