CAGC President and CEO Dave Simpson gives members a biweekly message full of updates from both North and South Carolina. If you have not already, Dave encourages you to reserve your spot for our upcoming CAGC luncheon featuring Atlanta Braves Legend Dale Murphy on Wednesday, December 9. This is one of many CAGC benefits currently available to members. Additionally, we will hold our final two NCLBGC classes of 2020 for continuing education and PE requirements this week on November 19 and 20. Limited space remains.
Both our Board of Directors and Board of Trustees meet this week to discuss important matters such as our 32 committees (including our newest committee – the CAGC ACEC Joint Utility infrastructure committee with members and engineers from both NC and SC) and our $3.7 million grant from the NC General Assembly for coronavirus pandemic safety measures in the construction industry and multi-lingual education, training and community outreach programs to reach construction workers, which is currently being disbursed.
Our recent Young Leader Virtual Conference and Friday’s “What the Election Means to You” Virtual Event went very well. If you missed those events, please watch your email for an opportunity to see the recordings.
Last week, SC Governor Henry McMaster held a ceremonial signing of the SC Business License Reform Bill designed to simplify and standardize how local governments assess business license taxes and bring much-needed simplification, standardization, and transparency to the process. The SC Be Pro Be Proud Truck continues to be very successful with over 90 tours scheduled. If you haven’t already and would like to have your logo featured on the Be Pro Be Proud Truck, please contact Leslie Clark for more information.
