Great News for the Construction Industry

The Grant Application Period for both the Pandemic Mitigation Grant and the Pandemic Education Grant is now open!

Our Carolinas AGC Foundation $3M grant award application period is now open! The grant application is simple to complete and the review of applications, disbursement of funds and reporting requirements will be quick and easy to manage.  The best part about the process is that you can include expenses that have already occurred (retroactive back to March 1) provided that you include receipts for those expenses in your application.  You may also include COVID expenses you anticipate will occur before December 30, 2020.

Grant Funding to be Awarded For Coronavirus Pandemic Safety Measures in the Construction Industry

Funding available for coronavirus pandemic safety measures incurred from March 1, 2020 - December 30, 2020.

In September our Carolinas AGC Foundation received a $3.75 million grant from the NC General Assembly. The legislation provides that $3.0 million of the grant shall be awarded for coronavirus pandemic safety measures in the construction industry in the form of subgrants to businesses and non-profits with an office in NC. (The remaining $750k will be awarded to media organizations, non-profits and businesses in NC that can provide multi-lingual education, training and community outreach programs using various media to reach construction workers, including those who lack proficiency in the English language.)

Two Separate Grant Application Processes

There will be two separate grant application processes. Both The $3.0 million grant application for pandemic related cleaning, supplies and equipment and the $750k Education Grant for media outreach and community engagement are now open.

Pandemic Mitigation Grant

The subgrants awarded from the $3.0 million grant – of which the maximum would be up to $100,000 - will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and must be used for eligible expenses to include screening and testing, PPE and job site sanitation, mental health support and other pandemic related safety gear for construction workers.  The grant may cover expenses for coronavirus-related health and safety measures incurred during the period from March 1, 2020 to December 30, 2020.  The CAGC Foundation is mandated to disburse all funds by December 30, 2020. The deadline for applying for this grant is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28.

Pandemic Education Grant

The application period for the $750k subgrants is now open.  The maximum award for these grants is $200k. These grants will also be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and will be based on the organization’s ability and capacity to conduct media outreach and community engagement before the December 30, 2020 deadline for disbursing funds.  The deadline for applying for this grant is 5 p.m. on Friday, October 30.

Additional Information

Please review the grant manual guidelines before proceeding to fill out the grant application.  To be considered for an award, you must complete the application and return all supporting documentation (i.e., scope of work, budget, etc.).

We hope you will take advantage of these amazing grant opportunities and apply with all required documentation.  One thing is for sure – while we cannot guarantee you will get a grant, you definitely won’t if you don’t apply.
