NC Legislative Contacts for Transportation Funding Needed by You
As most of you are aware, our NC Go! coalition will be leading the effort to secure additional transportation funding from the N.C. General Assembly after it convenes on May 13, 2008. To assist us in that effort, we have instituted a contact mechanism, referred to as CAPWIZ, which will enable registrants to easily make contact with key state and federal officials about transportation and other related issues. Regardless of whether you are a general contractor, subcontractor, supplier or service company, the transportation funding crisis is affecting all of us in the construction industry.
We would anticipate NC Go! Emailing our alerts to participants as issues arise that contacts would help. Many times the volume of emails received from back home will have a profound impact on a political figure. Nothing would require you make the requested contact, but if you were willing, the needed words would be given to you. You do not have to be an NC Go! member to participate.
It only takes a minute or so to sign up and CAGC encourages you to do it now while the weather is bad and be ready to play a part when action begins. Much of our livelihood is derived from transportation funding either directly or indirectly as private work is stimulated by a good transportation system. Please pass this information on to fellow employees, friends, family, etc. that think transportation is important to North Carolina’s future and request they assist in our efforts.
