Program Information

CAGC Foundation LogoThe CAGC Foundation was awarded $3.0 million in the state budget to host minority construction business academies to help minority contractors and subcontractors successfully compete for work in the construction industry. These academies will provide training and coaching to help these businesses get back on their feet after COVID and support their efforts to learn and grow.

The Construction Business Academy held its first cohort in January 2023 with 18 minority-owned and women-owned small businesses from the Charlotte area. All 18 businesses graduated from the academy in April 2023. Since the start of the Charlotte cohort, CAGC Foundation has held 3 additional cohorts across the state spanning from Charlotte, NC to Goldsboro, NC. There have been 54 graduates from the academy, and the numbers continue to grow.
