2023 YL Conference Draws Record Crowd

We're still talking about our Young Leader Conference held earlier this month! We spent two days growing, learning, and engaging with 215+ of the construction industry's top Young Leaders. The energy and enthusiasm from our attendees was contagious. We could feel it during every part of the conference -- from the sessions to the casino night and every where in between. We could see connections being made and friendships being developed. It was truly inspiring to witness.

Day one of the conference kicked off with a keynote presentation from Jes Averhart on staying personally inspired and was followed by breakout sessions on utilizing emotional intelligence in leadership with Hattie Hunter and succession planning with Lisa Beaty, both with Integrated Leadership Systems. We finished the day's sessions with two panels. The first panel was on mobile devices in construction and the second was on connecting with the next generation.

Saturday night, the Young Leader Conference attendees tried their hand at our casino night -- starting the night with $1,000 of CAGC Young Leader Chips and working to earn enough to purchase tickets for great prizes. From poker and roulette, to black jack and craps, we had it all. Some of our attendees were more successful than others. But, in the end, we all had a great time!

The second day of our Young Leader Conference was incredibly informative. The day began with a leadership panel discussion featuring CAGC Board Members and CAGC Young Leader Action Team Members with great dialogue between our panelists and attendees. Next, Dr. Michael Walden with NC State University gave an eye-opening economic update on the impact of national trends throughout the Carolinas. And, our closing keynote address from Jeremy Wall with Goalmakers: "Great Leaders Must be Master Managers" left us feeling energized and empowered to take on the rest of 2023 and 2024!

Save the date!

The 2024 Young Leader Conference will be held November 7 - 8 in Greenville, South Carolina. We look forward to seeing you there!
