Our 2024 Convention in beautiful St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands was an event we will not soon forget! Over 500 of our members joined us not only for the island's beautiful views and warm weather, but for the connections and informational sessions they count on from Carolinas AGC. We kicked off the event on Wednesday with a packed reception featuring traditional Moko Jumbie Dancers who walk on stilts. Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings were full of fantastic speakers including board members, representatives from AGC of America and American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), and speakers with an emphasis on health and well being and improved health opportunities via exclusive CAGC member benefits. We concluded our sessions on Saturday with a keynote address from Chad Hymas on leaving a legacy.
Afternoons were spent on "Island Time," with plenty of opportunities to connect with members, relax on the lush beaches and take excursions snorkeling, boating or kayaking. Each evening, attendees were invited to attend receptions where they could engage with one another while also enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We closed out our 2024 Convention with our annual Pinnacle Awards reception and dinner Saturday night where we honored six projects which enhance their communities, and a “Build with the Best” Pinnacle Award to an individual whose partnership efforts strengthened the construction industry. An additional seven Construction Excellence Awards, recognizing projects of distinction, were honored, as well. Thank you to everyone who made this event the success that it was -- our members, our sponsors, our staff members, and the hotel employees. It takes a village to make this even a success and we appreciate each and every one of you helped make it possible!
