The application period for the Raleigh Cohort of the Construction Business Academy has now closed. Check back soon for more information on our upcoming cohorts!
The Construction Business Academy is a business development program designed to strengthen minority, disadvantaged and women owned businesses to ensure their sustainability and growth.
The CAGC Foundation was awarded $3.0 million in the state budget to host minority construction business academies to help minority contractors and subcontractors successfully compete for work in the construction industry. These academies will provide training and coaching to help these businesses get back on their feet after COVID and support their efforts to learn and grow.
This comprehensive program will include 12 sessions (one each week, in-person and virtual) that focus on areas critical to the growth and development of the participating company and business owners. Students will be supported with business coaching and access to technical resources for a full year.
Cohorts will be created regionally in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro and in eastern and western parts of NC to ensure the curriculum and supportive services are accessible. The first cohort in Charlotte began in January. Over 20 businesses completed the program and graduated in April. The second Cohort in Greensboro is currently underway.
