WEBINAR: Why Litigate when you Can Mediate?

WEBINAR: Why Litigate when you Can Mediate?

Learn the benefits of mediation and how to successfully use it.

June 27, 2019 at 11:00am (1 Hour)

No one starts a building project intending to go to litigation. Over the past 30 years, the construction industry has come to recognize litigation is a poor solution and mediation is particularly well-suited for a successful resolution to construction disputes.

CAGC will host a free webinar on June 27 that will reveal why mediation is preferred in the construction industry; how the legal system is often in conflict with the opportunities and economies in mediation; what a good mediation looks like, and tips on how to organize and prepare for a successful mediation.

Our speaker for this webinar will be Steve Hedges, a Carolinas AGC member and former Director, a construction lawyer and a AAA mediator. Steve grew up in construction-related industries and is an honors graduate of the Virginia Tech College of Architecture and the Wake Forest School of Law.
Steve is a trial lawyer convert to the benefits of mediation.  He believes the legal system and practice is at odds with the fundamental belief in the construction industry that seeks to resolve conflict and find common ground before taking legal action.  He has over 35 years of experience recovering claims for his clients and serving as mediator for others in complex construction mediations.
