Help SC Construction Get Ahead This Election

September 11, 2018

Elections Around the Corner

The South Carolina general elections are right around the corner and several races are getting a lot of attention. Specifically, the race between incumbent Republican Gov. Henry McMaster and Democrat James Smith and the U.S. 1 House race between Republican Katie Arrington and Democrat Joe Cunningham.  Both are races to watch! Also note that all members of the SC House are up for re-election on Nov 6 as well.

Advocating for Construction Industry Year in and Year Out

Carolinas AGC is THE voice of the construction industry year after year at the SC State House. Because our members businesses are impacted in so many areas, your lobbyists track hundreds of bills each session. Bills ranging from worker’s compensation, tort reform, building codes, infrastructure funding, workforce development, and the list goes on. Your CAGC lobbyists don’t just following construction specific legislation, but instead all legislation that would impact your business.

New SC Session Kicks-off January 8

The 2019 legislative session kicks-off on January 8. This will be the first year of a two-year session and we’ll have a new slate of bills before us. We will be working on changes that impact workforce development, tort reform, and as always infrastructure issues.

We can’t do what we do without the help of our members.  So….

How Can You Help?

In SC, we host a CAGC PAC Golf Tournament each year. All funding from this tournament goes directly to our SC PAC and we use those funds to support the elected officials in South Carolina who support the construction industry. This year’s tournament is right around the corner and registration information can be found here.

If you don’t play golf, you can still donate to the SC CAGC here.
