Crowder Recognized for Innovation and Cooperation in Construction
Charlotte, NC- March 2006 – The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) has presented a national partnering award to Crowder Construction Company Civil & Environmental Division, Apex, NC, for its partnering efforts on the Table Rock Intake Project in Cleveland, SC. The Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering Award honors contracting firms from across the nation who collaborate with owners to promote innovation and provide best practices among all team members for the achievement of mutual goals and objectives.
Supporting the hallmark of true partnering, the Table Rock Intake Project exhibited a cost-effective, on time performance while providing a critical function to the client. Crowder's can-do spirit while working with owner Greenville Water Systems and engineer Camp Dresser & McKee enabled the team to blend the best talent and technology to achieve pin-point accuracy, zero lost time injuries and no environmental impact in opening a 105-foot vertical shaft and a 480-foot tunnel—all while keeping Table Rock Lake pristine and drinking water quality.
The Table Rock Intake Project also earned Crowder Construction a 2005 Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Award for Best Utility Project earlier this year.
As the largest AGC chapter in the nation with 3,000 member firms, Carolinas AGC's mission is to build its members' businesses through workforce development, business development, and profit management. More than 75% of commercial and industrial construction (buildings, highways/bridges, utility facilities) in both North and South Carolina is performed or supported by Carolinas AGC members.
