Richfield, NC-Based B.R.S., Inc. Honored for Safety Excellence Charlotte, NC—March 2006 – Utility contractor B.R.S, Inc. of Richfield, NC, earned top national safety honors at the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) convention this month . B.R.S. won the AGC/Willis Construction Safety Excellence Award in the Municipal Division. 100,001-300,000 Work Hours category.
The awards program requires finalists to achieve zero work site fatalities and multi–catastrophic injuries, and holds the contractor's safety program to exemplary standards of company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation. As a finalist, B.R.S. was required to make a presentation of its safety program to an independent panel of judges representing organizations including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, insurance firms, academia and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Up against contractors from across the nation, B.R.S.'s stellar cultural commitment to safety rose above the rest.
B. R. S., Inc. has been in business and a very active Carolinas AGC member for twenty years.
As the largest AGC chapter in the nation with 3,000 member firms, Carolinas AGC's mission is to build its members' businesses through workforce development, business development, and profit management.
