USDOL Conducting Davis-Bacon Survey in the Carolinas
The Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) is in the process of determining prevailing Davis-Bacon wage rates in North and South Carolina. The Davis-Bacon and related Acts require payment of locally prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits to employees of contractors and subcontractors performing work on federally financed or assisted construction projects. The USDOL is soliciting information and data on projects active and ongoing between 02/01/2008 through 01/30/2009. Data will be collected and must be postmarked by 01/15/2010 to be included in the survey results.
The USDOL has sent the surveys out to construction companies and building trades in the Carolinas to complete. It is critically important that Carolinas AGC member companies complete the survey and return it to the USDOL Wage and Hour Division as instructed to ensure the accuracy of the determinations. The wages currently being paid to construction workers in the Carolinas may affect the prevailing wage determinations issued as a result of the survey.
For more information regarding the Davis-Bacon wage survey program as well as support for completing the forms go to, http://www.dol.gov/esa/whd/programs/dbra/index.htm. Project wage data may also be submitted using the electronic WD-10 form, which is available on the site.
